• the viewfinder has discoloured on one side. (the Nikon SP 2005 Limited Edition has been reported by some owners to develop a discoloured or hazy viewfinder over time. This issue appears to be related to the deterioration of internal optical coatings or prism adhesives)
• the lens is in great condition without any optical issues

The Nikon SP 2005 Limited Edition was produced by painstakingly disassembling and remanufacturing classic Nikon SP camera bodies using old patent drawings and original parts. The viewfinder rangefinder system, a complex assembly of nearly 100 parts, was particularly challenging to recreate. The cameras were assembled by hand on lines parallel to the FM3a, with each camera requiring ten times the man-hours of an FM3a. Only 2,500 units were produced, all in black paint, and distributed exclusively in Japan.
