Upgrade your classic Leica M the clear view it deserves. The original glass was uncoated and prone to internal reflections, which allowed stray light to bounce around the viewfinder assembly and produce noticeable flare, especially in strong side-lighting or high-contrast scenes. This modern EU-made replacement is machined and lapped to very tight tolerances, achieving excellent spherical accuracy and reduced surface error. This helps minimise wavefront aberration and supports more consistent rangefinder alignment.

To further address flare, the new optical element is finished with a high-quality multi-layer coating that suppresses both surface reflections and micro-glare. The coating improves contrast, reduces “ghosting” artefacts, and makes the rangefinder patch easier to distinguish in challenging light. The overall effect is a noticeably cleaner, more stable image.

The metal retaining frame is CNC-machined here in the UK by a skilled local supplier, ensuring a precise, stress-free fit that keeps the optical element correctly seated. It remains fully compatible with external Leica diopter correction lenses, so your preferred setup works exactly as it should.
